Reset or Fix Icons:

To rebuild the icon cache in Windows 10, you can follow these steps:

1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator: Press Windows Key + X and select “Command Prompt (Admin)” or “Windows PowerShell (Admin)” from the menu.
2. Stop the Explorer.exe Process: Type the following command and press Enter:

3.  taskkill /f /im explorer.exe

This will end the Windows Explorer process and your taskbar and desktop icons will disappear temporarily.

4. Navigate to the Explorer Folder: Type the following command and press Enter:

5.  cd %homepath%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer

6. Delete the Icon Cache Files: Type the following commands one by one and press Enter after each:

7.  del iconcache*

8. Restart the Explorer.exe Process: Type the following command and press Enter:

9.  start explorer.exe

10. Reboot Your Computer: Restart your computer to allow the changes to take effect and the icon cache to rebuild.
